The Naturopathic Centre believes in natural medicine, or preventative medicine or functional medicine - call it what you will. By using natural, non-invasive procedures we aim to get at the root cause of illness, rather than just treating the outward signs of the illness. Only by getting rid of the underlying problem do we believe that long-term health can be achieved.

We view the pathway to dis-ease or ill-health as a cumulative, progressive state of dysfunction. Only when the state of health begins to affect an individual's daily life, as physical or emotional symptoms present, do people start to make decisions on their treatment. Most of the population will begin with over-the-counter medication, and if symptoms persist, visit their GP for more substantial drug intervention - leading where necessary to bigger interventions such as surgery or hospitalisation.

Treating the cause of symptoms

Our view is that symptoms present for a very valid reason - often as an early warning system by the body that some part of the organism is not happy and functioning well. It may be headaches, sinuses, skin issues, mood disorders, emotional factors, stomach aches, back aches, lack of energy. The conventional approach is to seek a chemical agent to suppress, stop or suspend these symptoms. At the Centre we respect these symptoms and work to unearth their causes so that an approriate treatment can restore the body to normal function, symptom-free.

Our methods

Naturopathy uses the teachings of nature (exercise, diet, emotional balance, stress reduction, manual adjustment, detoxification and herbs) to restore the status quo and promote long-term health.

We use a range of procedures to treat patients - homeopathy, nutrition, osteopathy - and formulate our own herbal tinctures and food supplements together with using those from other suppliers. We offer a several diagnostic tests including a Bioresonance Assessment which does a comprehensive physical, emotional and biochemical top to toe scan in a non invasive manner.
